Institutional Planning, 1968

Description

This image shows an Appalachian State employee standing in front of a model of the Appalachian State University (1967-current) campus. Campus model dates from between 1968 to 1973. Seen is the smoke stack attached to the Steam Generator Plant, built 1924, that was demolished in 1973 when the plant converted to oil heat. Also on the model are the first Belk Library, built 1968, and the new University Bookstore, built 1969. The sign on the wall reads, "Rules for Working with Model: 1. Wash hands before working. 2. Do not lay articles on table. 3. Be sure to [?] model...."
