Description

This image shows a young boy reading a book at a table in the Reading Center at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Behind him is a sign, titled "Initial Consonant Sounds: Key Words." Books line the walls on bookshelves. The Reading Center provided diagnostic and remedial services for Appalachian students and the region in general. It also served as a laboratory for students in the teacher preparation program.
