Title

Food Services, staff, Treva Johnson

Description

This image shows Treva Johnson, part of the Food Services staff, at an event in the mid-1970s commemorating Food Service staff employees who worked at Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925. Welborn Hall served as the main cafeteria for Appalachian State since its opening in 1925. It was designed to service over a thousand students at any one time. Food was supplied by the meat, vegetable, and dairy produce from Appalachian State's two farms, as a means of saving money for the University until the early 1960s.
