Title

Campus Police, parking enforcement, photo 1

Description

This image shows a Volkswagen parked in the lot in front of Winkler Residence Hall, built 1974, with a parking ticket under the windshield wiper at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Campus police took responsibility for campus safety and parking enforcement for the main Appalachian State campus, University Water Systems, State Farm, and Camp Broadstone. Due to limited parking on campus, many students with vehicles were unable to find legal parking in or around campus, and often received tickets. It was one of the more visible services offered by Appalachian State Campus Security. This image appears in the 1986 Rhododendron (p. 37).
