Bookstore, first, Roby Triplett

This image shows Roby Triplett of Lenior, NC, at the College Bookstore, built 1934, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Triplett was a trainee in textbook sales, and graduated from Appalachian State in 1967, majoring in Business Education. Roby Triplett was an employee of the College Bookstore since 1962, and in 1967 became a bookstore manager trainee. The old College Bookstore occupied a brick building at the corner of Locust St. and College Ave from 1934 to 1967, when it was demolished to make way for a newer, larger University Bookstore, completed in 1969. This image appears in January 26, 1967 edition of "The Appalachian."
