This image shows an environmental protest in the 1970s at Appalachian State University (1967-current) and Boone, NC, by Appalachian State students. A group of students can be seen walking down a street picking up litter, carrying paper bags. A group of onlookers can be seen seated on a hill in the background. Students were protesting the amount of pollution and garbage in the campus and town in general.
