Physical Plant, circa 1960

This image shows the Service Annex, built 1949, that housed physical plant operations for Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). To the right of the building the Steam Generator Plant, built 1924, can be seen. It housed a steam generator used by New River Light and Power until 1972. The Service Annex also housed the campus laundry services and administrative physical plant offices.
