Description

This image shows an aerial view of Appalachian State University (1967-current). The center of the image shows the former Promenade, now a sidewalk, beside Sanford Mall. The corner of Plemmons Student Union, built 1968, can be seen on the right, next to Watauga Hall, built 1929, Belk Library, built 1968, and Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925. The top of the Varsity Gymnasium, built 1968, can be seen behind trees, and Bowie, Eggers, and Justice Residence Halls, built 1966, 1970, and 1952, are in the background to the left. The tops of Smith-Wright Hall, built 1940, and D. D. Dougherty Library, built 1935, can be seen in the background in the center of the image.
