This image shows Ben McGee, a member of the Mountaineer baseball team at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) for the 1957-58 season. Baseball was one of the first sports played at Appalachian State, and was played at Red Lackey Field, located approximately where Durham Park and the Holmes Convention Center, built 2000, now stand. A small group of people can be seen in the background, and cars can be seen parked in the background. This image appears in the 1958 Rhododendron (p. 151).
