Title

Baseball Players, 1957-58, Don Alexander

Description

This image shows Don Alexander, a member of the Mountaineer baseball team at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) for the 1957-58 season. Baseball was one of the first sports played at Appalachian State, and was played at Red Lackey Field, located approximately where Durham Park and the Holmes Convention Center, built 2000, now stand. Three other members of the team can be seen in the background, and two houses sit on a hill just beyond the field. This image appears in the 1958 Rhododendron (p. 151).
