This image shows four members of the Mountaineer football team of 1955-56 on College Field at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). College Field was located south of the Administration Building, built 1924, approximately where Rankin Science Hall was later built in 1963. From left to right, the image shows Ed Lakey, John Garwood, Aubrey Elam, and Jim Moore. In the background, Smith-Wright Hall, built 1940, can be seen on the left, and the second Administration Building on the right.
