Football Team, 1953-54, photo 2

This image shows the Mountaineer football team of 1953-54, on College Field at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Four coaches can be seen standing on the sides, including Bob Broome and Preston Mull (right), and John Kirk and E. C. Duggins (left). College Field was located south of the Administration Building, built 1924, approximately where Rankin Science Hall was later built in 1963. The western corner of the Men's Gymnasium, built 1934, can be seen in the background.
