This image shows R. E. Cummings and Ben Quinn, two members of the Mountaineer football team of 1953-54, shaking hands on College Field at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). College Field was located south of the Administration Building, built 1924, approximately where Rankin Science Hall was later built in 1963. Ben Quinn later became a Professor at Eastern Carolina University and a member of Appalachian's Board of Trustees.
