This image shows Blanford Barnard Dougherty, looking at a ten dollar bill, standing on a stage next to Pansy Kincaid at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) on August 15, 1955. Blanford Barnard Dougherty was president of Appalachian from 1903 until his retirement on June 30, 1955. Pansy Kincaid was a graduate of Appalachian Teachers College (1903-1925) in 1915, and taught in the Watauga County school system.
