Description

On April 23, 1955, Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) hosted its second one-day business conference for business teachers in the auditorium at I. G. Greer Hall, built 1950. The chief speaker was Dr. Irol Balsley, seen in the image standing next to the blackboard, who spoke on testing and grading typewriting and shorthand. Balsley was the author of several works on shorthand, transcribing, and letter writing.
