Men's Baseball Team, 1916

This image shows the Appalachian Training School (1903-1925) men's baseball team of 1916 posing on the athletic field, located just south of the first Administration Building, built 1905, on the current location of Holmes Convocation Center, built 2000. Early baseball teams were forbidden to play during school hours, and needed faculty permission to play outside the immediate neighborhood of Boone, NC.
