Lovill Home, first

Description

This image shows the eastern (front) and southern sides of Lovill Home, the first women's dormitory built on Appalachian State's campus. It was completed in 1906 and held 85 women boarders. It was located east-northeast of the first Administration Building, built 1905, and on the current location of Founders Hall, built 1932. Another Lovill Home was built in 1915, and the original Lovill Home became apartments for workers and teachers.
