Description
The Dougherty House was built in 1903 by D. D. Dougherty and served as home to both him and B. B. Dougherty. It was originally located on Rivers St., but was moved to allow for a parking lot, and stood at the current location of Cap Science Building. It was purchased by the Appalachian Heritage Museum and moved to Route 321 between Boone and Blowing Rock, in 1989. This image shows the front porch and main entrance to the building.
