The recording captures what Haney refers to as the "bluegrass story," a segment of the festival devoted to retelling and paying tribute to the history of bluegrass music. The recording features Charlie Smith, Del McCoury, Shenandoah Cut-Ups, Bill Monroe, Jack Sykes, Fred Bartenstein and others. Carlton Haney is emcee.
