This image shows John Alfred Pritchett, director of the Audio-Visual Center, instructing students on the use of transparencies at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Pritchett began working at Appalachian State in 1955, where he organized the Department of Audio-Visual Education, later the Department of Library Science. He served as the first director of the Audio-Visual Center, and was first official University Photographer. He retired in 1991.
