This image shows John A. Pritchett, associate professor in the Department of Education, and James Stone, director of Extension Services, standing outside holding slices of watermelon during the annual Watermelon Cutting at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. They can be seen standing outside on College Field. Smith-Wright Hall, built 1940, and the second Administration Building, built 1924, can be seen in the background.
