This image shows Professor F. Ray Derrick standing by an overhead in front of a Biology class at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Students can be seen sitting in the foreground. Derrick began teaching at Appalachian State in 1946, and served as department chairman from 1956 to 1973. He retired in 1978.
