Alfred Adams, circa 1975

This image shows Alfred Adams, banker and chairman of the Board of Directors of Northwestern Bank in the town of Boone, NC. Adams supported the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University (1967-current) with scholarships and donations, and received an honorary alumnus award from Appalachian State in 2001. In 1992, the Alfred T. Adams Professorship of Banking Endowment was established in the Walker College of Business. The $500,000 endowment was to provide funds for salary supplements, research, travel, and secretarial support.
