This image shows James T. C. Wright, professor in the Department of Mathematics at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1950s. He can be seen sitting in an office looking at a book. Wright began teaching at Appalachian Training School (1903-1925) in 1921 and retired from Appalachian State in 1961.
