Bob Broome Award, circa 1960

This image shows James T. C. Wright, professor in the Department of Mathematics, handing the Bob Broome Award trophy to a Mountaineer football player during the halftime period of the Homecoming game at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1950s. Mountaineer team members can be seen standing on the left on College Field. Wright began teaching at Appalachian Training School (1903-1925) in 1921 and retired from Appalachian State in 1961.
