This image shows John W. Welborn, manager of Food Services, standing in the kitchen of Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in August 1973. He can be seen stacking tubs on the counter. Welborn was manager of the cafeteria and Food Services from 1939 until 1973. Welborn Cafeteria was the main dining hall for Appalachian State since 1925, and served food primarily grown from the University's two farms until the early 1960s.
