Description

This image shows six attendees from Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) at the Lincoln County, NC, Alumni Association's banquet on March 17, 1961. Seen seating are Daniel J. Whitener, Appalachian State dean of the College, Bill Rankin, president of the Alumni Association Lincoln Chapter, and J. D. Rankin, Appalachian State president emeritus. Standing in the back are Leonard Scronce, Appalachian State's Dean of Men John Kirk, and Steve Grantt. They can be seen looking at a copy of "The Appalachian," the Appalachian State student newspaper.
