This image shows Uberto Price, professor in the Department of Education and director of the Reading Center at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), standing with another man looking out a window in the 1960s. Price began teaching at Appalachian State in 1955. The Reading Center provided diagnostic and remedial services for Appalachian students and the region in general. It also served as a laboratory for students in the teacher preparation program.
