This gun hung in a case in the lobby in the D.D. Dougherty Administration Building during the 1970s. Whereabouts now is unknown.

This image shows Luther Oliver, an employee of the Carpenter Shop at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), holding a handmade rifle he constructed out of scrap metal and wood. Oliver worked in the Carpenter Shop since since the mid-1950s.
