This image shows Allie Austin Hodgin, reference librarian at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), in 1965. She can be seen standing in the stacks showing a book to a student in the D. D. Dougherty Library, built 1935. Hodgin began working in the library in 1934 and retired in 1974.
