This image shows Vance C. Howell, professor in the Department of Social Studies, standing on the Promenade in front of the second Administration Building, built 1924, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Howell began teaching at Appalachian State in 1923 and retired in July 1962.
