This image shows Rena Caldwell Hoover, professor of the Department of History at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), sitting at a desk in an office in the 1960s. Hoover began working as a secretary at Appalachian State in 1947, and joined the History faculty in 1955. Mrs. Hoover was the wife of Dr. Francis Hoover, Professor of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. She retired in 1977.
