Description

This image shows Patricia Holshouser sitting by a Christmas tree with her daughter Virigina in the 1970s. Pat Holshouser graduated from Appalachian State in 1962, and the wife of James E. Holshouser, Jr., governor of the state of North Carolina from 1973 to 1977. As a former governor, Holshouser is an emeritus member of the University of North Carolina Board of Governors, which governs the sixteen institutions within the UNC system, including Appalachian State University.
