This image shows J. C. Faw, a member of the Board of Visitors at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1970s. The Board of Visitors was a twenty-citizen panel interested in advancing higher education in North Carolina and advised the Board of Trustees and Appalachian State's chancellor. J. C. Faw was the president of Lowe's Food Stores, Inc.
