Title

Conrad Stadium Fund, James Duncan, 1962

Description

This image shows James Duncan, instructor in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation and football coach at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), sitting on a cinder block next to cheerleader Jeannie Belk in February 1962. They can be seen on the new football area where Conrad Stadium, built 1962, was being constructed. Duncan and Belk were posing for the photograph to illustrate the stadium's need for funding to construct bleachers, which were not funded by the state.
