Description

This image shows William Conrad, a member of the Board of Trustees at Appalachian State University (1967-current), sitting with other attendees of the August commencement ceremonies in Varsity Gymnasium, built 1968, on August 15, 1970. Conrad was awarded an honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degree by the University. He can be seen sitting in the center of the first row, and former President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969) can be seen standing behind him. Conrad served as a Trustee from 1941 to 1967.
