Athletic Department, 1969

This image shows the members of the new Athletic Department structure at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in August 1969. President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969) can be seen standing with the new Director of Athletics Roy Clogston, and Assistant Director of Athletics James Jones on Conrad Stadium, built 1962. Clogston became Athletic Director in 1969 and retired in 1974. James Jones became director in 1974.
