This image shows Mary Brown Allgood, professor and chairman of the Department of Home Economics in the College of Fine and Applied Arts at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) sitting at a desk in an office in the 1960s. Allgood began teaching at Appalachian State in 1961 and served as chairman of the department from 1961 until 1972.
