This image shows the faculty and staff of the General College at Appalachian State University (1967-current) for 1975-76. From left to right: Dr. Leighton Scott,Dr. Helen Latour, Dr. Ron Ensey, Dr. Virginia Foxx, unknown, Dr. Peter Petschauer, Dr. Jay Wentworth Dean O.K. Webb, unknown, Dr. Margaret McFadden. The General College was formed in 1967 and originally held nonacademic functions including the registrar and advising, as well as several academic programs such as International Programs, Interdisciplinary Studies, Freshman Seminar, and the Honors Program. Between 2005 and 2007, the College was reorganized into the University College to include General Education, co-curricular programs, and interdisciplinary degree programs.
