This image shows a group of children preparing to race on the basketball court in Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) during the Junior Olympics in the 1970s. An adult can be seen standing in the foreground giving instructions while children stand in the start line before the race.
