This image shows four of the members of the Tau Beta chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at Appalachian State University (1967-current) sitting beside a road holding canteens. A man in the center can be seen holding up a shoe with a hole in the sole. Alpha Phi Omega is a national service fraternity promoting friendship, leadership, and service, and it sponsored a walk from Boone, NC, to Winston-Salem during the mid-1970s.
