Description
This image shows some of the members of the Tau Beta chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at Appalachian State University (1967-current) standing by a sign by a road to Winston-Salem, NC. Alpha Phi Omega is a national service fraternity promoting friendship, leadership, and service, and it sponsored a walk from Boone, NC, to Winston-Salem during the mid-1970s. The road signs read, "HILL, Trucks use low gear next 5 miles." Some students can be seen crouching behind a sign reading, "Save a Life, Donate."
