Description

This image shows the Mountaineer Playhouse performing the play "Dark of the Moon" at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in July 1973. A man can be seen holding a barrel while two people watch from the background. The wall of a shack can be seen in the background. The Mountaineer Playhouse was a community theatre company established in the summer of 1971 by Professor Ed Pilkington in the Department of Speech and Theatre. Working primarily out of Chapell Wilson Hall, built 1938, the group performed summer productions using local professional actors and student interns.
