Description

This image shows members of the Mountaineer Playhouse at Appalachian State University (1967-current) leaning over and touching the stage floor during a practice session in the 1970s. A man can be seen in a white shirt standing in the background. The Mountaineer Playhouse was a community theatre company established in the summer of 1971 by Professor Ed Pilkington in the Department of Speech and Theatre. Working primarily out of Chapell Wilson Hall, built 1938, the group performed summer productions using local professional actors and student interns.
