Description

This image shows a member of the Mountaineer Playhouse at Appalachian State University (1967-current) coordinating a practice session on stage in the 1970s. Four people can be seen standing in the background. The Mountaineer Playhouse was a community theatre company established in the summer of 1971 by Professor Ed Pilkington in the Department of Speech and Theatre. Working primarily out of Chapell Wilson Hall, built 1938, the group performed summer productions using local professional actors and student interns.
