This image shows students participating in a summer theatre workshop held by the Mountaineer Playhouse at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the summer of 1975. Students and actors in costume can be seen standing around a stage. The workshop provided dramatic training for children. The Mountaineer Playhouse was a community theatre company established in the summer of 1971 by Professor Ed Pilkington in the Department of Speech and Theatre. Working primarily out of Chapell Wilson Hall, built 1938, the group performed summer productions using local professional actors and student interns.
