This image shows a meeting of the Mountaineer Club at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the early 1970s. A group of men can be seen sitting around tables while another man stands in the background. Seated to the immediate right of the speaker is Mr. A.E. McCreary, Boone businessman. Glasses and plates can be seen on the tables. The Mountaineer Club was a sports club for donors who contributed money to the Athletic Department for athletic scholarships. Members received preference for game tickets, parking passes, and access to special Homecoming activities.
