Third from the left is Dr. Harvey Durham (Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs). Seated on the far right is Dr. Ernest Lane (Mathematics faculty). Fourth from the right (wearing glasses and facing the speaker) is Dr. Hans Heyman (English faculty). Dr. Max Smith (Music faculty) is fifth from the right. The Honors Program is an academic and residential community for high achieving students and is open to freshmen, transfer students, and current students at Appalachian State.
