This image shows a student receiving an award from Mr. Rogers Whitener (English faculty) at the Honors Program award ceremony in Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in May 1971. The Honors Program is an academic and residential community for high achieving students and is open to freshmen, transfer students, and current students at Appalachian State.
