This image shows a student receiving an award from Dr. Ernest Lane (Mathematics faculty) at the Honors Program award ceremony in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in April 1981. The Honors Program is an academic and residential community for high achieving students and is open to freshmen, transfer students, and current students at Appalachian State. The man seated on the far right is Dr. David McEntire, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
